A Chrome Extension That Saves a Social Post in One Click

LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter Text, Ready to Paste

Social Post Mate logo

Social Post Mate is a Chrome extension for people who keep useful posts. On LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter, the text of a post can be captured from a button on that post, then pasted wherever the user wants to keep it.

The extension is pinned, switched on, and used on the post itself. There is no separate copy step from the page. The same control also sits on the networks the user already scrolls.

A later update added comment drafts on LinkedIn: long or short, in more than one language, including replies.

What the Extension Enables

  • Save the text of a post in one click
  • Works on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Paste the text into any notes the user keeps
  • Draft a comment on LinkedIn
  • Choose a long or short comment, and a language

Key Features

One-click post capture

LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter

Text ready to paste and keep

Comment drafts on LinkedIn

Long or short comments

More than one language, plus replies

The Challenges

A good post is easy to lose. Selecting the text, copying it, and finding a place to keep it breaks the scroll. The same idea can show up on LinkedIn one day and Facebook the next.

Copying a post by hand takes the user off the page

A useful post disappears once the feed moves on

The same networks do not share one save button

A comment still starts from an empty box

The extension had to live on the post, not in a separate tool. One button takes the text. The comment draft stays on LinkedIn, next to the post it answers.

Business Impact

A post the user wants to keep no longer depends on a careful highlight and copy. The text is available to paste as soon as the button is used.

On LinkedIn, a comment can start from a draft instead of a blank box. The length and the language are choices on that draft, and a reply can be drafted the same way.
